Hong Kong has more ultra-rich people than any other country, yet 1 in 5 people still live in poverty. Dateline’s Marc Fennell asks why the gap between rich and poor is so extreme.
I spent a month in HK last year. I could not bear it and could not wait to leave. Although my hotel and services were world-class, I did not feel comfortable with the sheer amount of people out on the streets each day. I would sometimes escape to the parks to unwind, but I had to wade thru oceans of shopaholics, teens, and tourists bumping me around like a pin ball.
